Has anyone who suffers from COPD had a successful wls?

I'm a 29 year old female who was diagnosed with COPD about 6 years ago. My FEV1 is .8, so my surgeon is hesitant to perform the RNY on me. I was wondering if anyone else with this pulmonary disease has undergone wls and if so, did you have complications? I'd also like to note that I have the approval of 2 Chiefs of Pulmonology from 2 different hospitals in 2 different states. I've also undergone 2 surgeries previously and had no problems with anesthesia. Thanks for your input!
