I have occassional pain when eating , is this normal?

I am 6 weeks post op and i can eat any soft foods. However when i eat solild foods I occassionaly feel alot of pain in my new stomach area(sternam area). It doesnt always happen but it hurtd bad when it does. I was wondering if anyone else has expierenced similar pain.
