Health Net Hmo has changed their wording on wls

Under the additional exclusions and limitations for the prescription drugs they have this>>>>Appetite suppressants, or drugs that are indicated for and prescribed for body weight reduction are not covered, except when prescribed for the treatment of morbid obesity as an ALTERNATIVE TO SURGERY. Now, my question is this: Are they saying they will cover diet pills for weight reduction instead of wls??? I need someone's input on this because right now I still have time to change insurance companies. Health Net already denied me for wls because they want me to be on a Doctor supervised diet first. But they don't say for how long. The surgeon's office staff said the guidelines are one year of supervised diet. I am worried that after I complete this supervised diet will they approve my wls??? PLease hurry and answer, I only have two weeks left to decided if I should stay with this insurance company. Thank you so much............
