Does anyone have a knot or swelling in the sternum area?

It has been there since surgery. It almost feels like the sternum was broken and has alot of cartilage buildup. If I run my fingers across it, it feels like a deformity. I have'nt been able to wear a bra since surgery as it aggrevates and makes the area itch. I'm 5 1/2 mos. post-op. When I said something about it to my Dr's nurse, she said that it was my pouch. Has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone know what it could be?
