Does anyone know of a weight loss friendly medical doctor in the NY/Long Island area

I was seeing my own doctor and when I told her I was considering having the surgery, she did not think it was a good idea. I just called my insurance company and they told me I would need a letter of medical necessity from my doctor. If you know of any doctors in the NY/Long Island area that are weight loss friendly, please let me know.
