very sensitive skin around incision - why?

I'm 3 weeks out and the skin surrounding the scar is very sensitive.Only about 2 inches on the right side of the scar hurts, but 5 inches out from the scar on the left side is really "ouchie".Just lightly brushing it with fingertips is painful.Anyone else?
