How long will I need to wait for insurance approval when I change over to

my DH policy? I have proof that I have had continous coverage with my employer and I'm only changing because his insurance covers WLS and my employer insurance does not. His insurance is a PPO so I will not need a referal. I'm just curious how long I should wait to call a surgeon.And If i do it to soon, I worry that the insurance won't approve it.
