What is causing pain just under where ribs join together?

I have been having pain when I eat, though not every time I eat. I feel it right under the center of my ribcage, right under my bra band. It feels like there is a fist-sized lump just sitting there. Sometimes it gets very painful, and I feel the lump in the back, under my bra-band. It does NOT radiate around my right side. Although papaya enzyme helps, it does not feel like food is stuck in my stoma. I've also been having terrible problems with gas lately. I do plan to talk to my doctor, but was wondering if this sounded like gallbladder or anything else specific to someone.
