What do you do if you don't have anyone to be at the hospital with you.

My husbands work will not let him off of work to be at the hospital the day of the surgery. I really want someone to be there for me. Just in case something happens. I don't know what to do, I know that you need someone there just in case something happens. Has anyone else had problems with their husbad/wife not being able to get off of work and what did you do?
