Lots of pain...no insurance?

Shortly after surgery (open RNY 10/22/02) I lost my job with my health insurance. Even picking up COBRA was not an option I could afford. Luckily, I got three free months of follow up care with my surgeon. I am now 3.5 months post op and having a lot of stomach pain (right side) for the last two weeks. I have no insurance and can not afford to see a doctor. I live in NJ and called Social Services hoping they would have a short term low cost option for me. Unless, I have children, which I don't, I don't qualify for any state aid. I still have not found a job and my husband has a full time job that is not offering insurance. Has this happened to anyone? What if I have a serious problem that shouldn't be let go? Any suggestions? The pain is not food related, because it doesn't get any better or worse when I eat or don't eat. I am having regular bowel movements. Thanks for any help.
