Post ops-- Has anyone had their period on the Depo shot?

I am 2 months post op and got my first Depo shot last month. I now have my period really badly. The cramps are horrible and I am bleeding pretty strongly. I have been told that the depo shot isn't 100%. I just want to see if maybe this happens the first few months and then goes away or am I the only one???????
