Dr Aguirre, Ensenada Mexico.....blood clot question

I am curently waitng for insurance approval for RNY in Denver but my insurance will be excluding the surgery starting Jan 1 04. (read my year of bad luck with insurance on my profile lol) Anyway, if my insurance doesn't come through i have decided to self pay with Dr Aguirre in Mexico. Now i am terrified about getting blood clots. I've quit smoking already and i will be stopping my birth control before my surgery. But im terrified to the point that i'm affraid about sleeping after surgery. I know i want to get up and walk walk walk walk...but what about when i'm asleep?? My PCP told me i was in more danger of getting a blood clot being on birth control pills and smoking then i will from the surgery but i'm still terrified. I'm having panic attacks! So i guess i have a two part question. 1). Is there any way i can calm myself down about blood clots?? 2) For those of you that have had surgery with Dr Aguirre what does he do to prevent blood clots? After reading all your profiles and stuff that is the only thing that i didn't see mentioned in anyones comments about him. sorry for the essay question!! LOL I just can't get it out of my mind!
