Do I give up or try again with another doctor?

For three months I have been waiting for my doctors letters to turn into the surgeon. I have had three blood clots and after the last one I had a filter put in. Other then controled blood pressure and severe arthristis with nine degenerative discs in my back and no surgery available, I am in good health. I took all my papers to the surgeon two days ago. They did not bother to call me, they called my doctor and said no go. I am in tears. Has anyone else been denied because of blood clots or is this doctor being extra careful. They could have least called me themselves and explained why no surgery.Should I give up or try another place. I was denied at Yypsilanti just because I was 65. I am considered too old. Maybe it is too dangerous for me.
