I am wondering (and sort of SCARED)

I am 5'9" and weigh 310. (I am shaped like an APPLE) I would like to eventually get down to 145-150. Is this possible? Is there anyone out there with similar starting stats that have reached a goal similar to that? My husband seems to think that will be too small, and says that he would like to see me at 160-170. Any opinions? (People seem to think that I carry my weight well. No one ever guesses that I weigh as much as I do.)
