Do I need to go to the dentist 1 month post-op with wn empty stomache?

I went to the dentist today to try to get all my dental work done pre-op - but he still has one tooth to fix. My appointment is 1 month post-op, and as the tooth is on the lower right side I am afraid my very strong gag reflex could cause me to be sick on the dentist. Horrors! Could this be a problem? Anyone have any advice?
