Hello Robin!!! Welcome to the Alabama board! I hope you find lots of good information and all the excellent support that was offered me when I first came here two months ago. I am scheduled for surgery August 18 this year. My emotions on this decision go from being thrilled to being disgusted with myself for not having enough will power to gut it out on my own to be terrified that I will have the surgery and fail, just like with every other diet I've tried. So I know where you are coming from. So does everyone else who posts here, too! Which is what makes it such a wonderful place to come. The one thing I know that you may not yet is that if you are hoping that Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama will approve you for bypass, you will need to complete a 6 months supervised diet with your doctor before applying for approval. So you might want to go ahead and get started on that diet, so when you do get covered by BS/BS, you won't have to wait another 6 months. I wish you all the good fortune in the world in seeking this surgery. I have had a good friend whose life was tranformed by this surgery. Her courage to do this and her will to succeed just humbled me and encouraged me to try it as well. If I can ever answer any questions or serve as an ear for you to vent to, please feel free.....
