Ruthie, Congrat's on all your wonderful news. The century club was great but now a new job, new car, more energy,positve attitude, etc. Pass around your good luck charm. Ruthie, 05/30/2003 Congratulations on your wonderful weightloss. You mentioned on the message board that you are having extra good luck these days. I'd bet that the people around you would say that YOU are so much peppier and open to life that it's hard not to feel it. Well, here I am on the "losing" side. I honestly can't say that I am happy yet. I KNOW that it will get better and it is. I had surgery, Thursday, Oct. 24. It took about 2 hours 40 minutes. They had to remove my gallbladder after all. The doctor said it felt like a beanie baby, it was so full of stones. He even gave me some as a souvenir, lol Otherwise there were no complications. I had a morphine pump but it was doing no good at all. It did ease things a little so that I was able to sleep off and on. Finally late Friday night, my heart rate was up and they called my doctor. He figured it was because of my pain and switched me to demoral. I wanted to hug and kiss the nurses! Immediate relief! I kept tat until late Saturday night, then my IV site started leaking, so they removed it. By this time, I was free of everything else. I had my NG tube for two awful days. I HATED that part. My throat is still pretty sore from that. Otherwise it wasn't really painful, just a nuisance. I don't have any other drainage tubes, luckily. I go back in 8 days to have my staples removed. Hopefully by then I will be happy with having the surgery and be almost pain free. The worst part right now is my back. I am not used to sleeping on my back, so it is very sore and I can't seem to get comfortable. I have no idea how much I may have lost. Ironically, I was never weighed by my surgeon through this whole process. My last weigh in was 310 at the Endocrinologist, so that is what I'll be going by. THANKS TO ALL THAT POSTED TO MY SURGERY PAGE!!!! I AM STILL TOO TIRED AND SORE TO REPLY TO THEM ALL RIGHT NOW, BUT I WILL TRY MY BEST TO DO SO SOON. God bless.
