April 10, 2006......OMG this is harder than I thought! I started my 2 week liquid diet today and at first it wasn't so bad. The kids and I kept busy by going to the nursery to get plants and then we came home and planted for awhile. That kept my mind off of food and out of the kitchen. Come 3:00pm though, I became so hungry. Diet Snapple and water have been helping somewhat. I can't wait for dinner tonight when I get my 1 cup of lettuce with some non-starchy veggies. I'm sure the first few days will be difficult and then hopefully it'll get a little easier. I'm just keeping my mind on the goal!!!

April 13, 2006......This pre-op diet is getting a little easier. Since Mon. I've lost 6 lbs. It's nice to be getting some weight off before the surgery. I'm still pretty hungry. I'm even dreaming about it. I joked with Jerry the other day that we should put a t.v. in the bathroom and I'll just stay on the toilet all day instead of getting up every 10-15 minutes or so to go to the bathroom b/c of all the liquid I'm drinking. Well, the big day is only a week and a half away. Hard to believe. I'm starting to get nervous. My family has been so supportive. How grateful I am to have all of them. I love them all so much!!!!!

April 17, 2006.....Well, one week from right now I'll be on the losing side. I can't believe the date is almost here! This 2-wk. pre-op diet is so hard but I'm staying focused. Can't wait 'til the 24th!!!!

April 25, 2006.....I'm on the losing side now and am so excited. Had surgery yesterday and was able to come home last night. Everything went really well. I'm just having a lot of gas pain and port pain but hopefully that'll start getting better day by day. I'm soooooooo excited!!!!!!!

May 1, 2006.....One week post-op. Hard to believe it's been a week already. I'm doing o.k. except for the horrible gas pains I have. I'm still needing to take Darvocet for the pain. Tomorrow I go in for my one week post-op appt. If the gas pain isn't better, I'll see if they have any suggestions for me. I've been walking, drinking, taking Darvocet, as well as Gas-x and nothing seems to be alleviating it. Since surgery I've only lost 1 lb. A little disappointed in that. I'm hardly taking in any calories but the scale isn't reflecting that. I think it may be due to the fluids and air from surgery. One more week on liquids and then next week I can start pureed food. YUM!!!
