David, Congratulations on your wonderful weight loss! 93 pounds, WOW! That's great! Keep up the good work. Remember, a while back I wrote to you about my friend who had surgery with Dr. Halmi a week before you and died from complications? Her story is now on this website's memorial page if you'd like to read it sometime. Her name is Ginger Brewster. Keep up your good work, you are doing fantastic!

Dear David, I am a psychologist who is waiting for approval for this surgery. You would think this would be a case of "Physician heal thyself" but obesity doesn't work that way. Obesity is like addiction. It is evilly accomadating to those of us who are never happy when all facets of our life are going well. Don't let obesity overcome all the work you have done. I see that you are married. Have you spoken to your wife about the feelings you are having? I know this sounds like a self-serving direction, but I think that perhaps you should seek counseling from an addiction specialist. You are obviously reacting to the loss of your food addiction and developing another to take its place. Please let me know how things are going for you.

It's the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance. It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance. It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give, and the soul afraid of dyin' that never learns to live. Thinking of you and hoping things get easier real soon..*hugs*
