Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I am just a few weeks away from getting my date. It has been a battle my whole life with weight. When I was 1 year old my Mom took me to dr. and he told her I was overweight and needed to be on a diet. I was always self consciense of my weight . I was always told, "you have a pretty face." I have high blood pressure and type 2 diabeties. I have no energy and am on so many meds. I pray when I have this surgery that I have energy and am can come off some of these medicines.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing about being overweight is not having energy to keep up with my grandbabies. Feeling out of breath if I walk to far. Getting out of energy to do everyday things.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I am nervous and anxious to have my surgery.
