Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have been heavy every since I was a little girl. I was always the tallest...and biggest. I didn't put too much into taking care of myself until 2006 when I became pregnant. My son gave me a new lease on life. After delivery I was diagnosed as having diabetes. I wanted to live and be healthy.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

I hate not being able to keep up with my little boy. I hate thinking everyone is looking at me and for all the wrong reasons. I hate having to shop in the bigger sized section. I hate being out of breath doing daily activities.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I most look forward to playing with my son. I want to dance the night away with my husband. I want to go horseback riding, and not feel bad for the horse. I want to shop wherever I want to shop. I want to be the skinny me! The healthier me
