Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I have struggled all my life. Back to 1st grade. All the drugs for wieght loss including Phen- Phen until they took it off the market. Weight Watchers, Jenny, nutri-system. Of course those failed or I wouldn't be seeking the surgery. Now that I will be 49 in Aug. type2 diabetes, stiff diabetic shoulder, back pain, knee pain and swelling feet. It is time to reverse it to the point of getting RID of it or STOP it in it's tracks before it causes another malfunction in my body.. Besides what do I have to lose.;D just kidding. either my life or the weight. I vote WEIGHT

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Oh here we go. Where do I start? Do I start where the other kids make fun of you. NO everyone can start there. How about your Mother telling you that you can't wear jeans because you are to fat! How about your half sister and fiance calling you a beach whale. Oh here is a real good one. I would say about 11 years ago. Which i weighed less than I do now. Went car shopping with a nieghbor and he said I don't think you can fit in a corvette or I don't think a horse can carry you or he would say plz set in the middle of the back seat so the car will not lean to one side. Here is the icing on the cake! You are only used by guys sex cause they are having a bad relationship and they figure no one would think they would have sex with you (me) .Oh let's not forget these ( fat jokes). You know after a while u become numb and u avoid mirrors u don't go buy clothes cause you are discouraged about size or the selections. There is probably a (worse thing) for every pound I need to lose. ;)
