Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

Well I've been over weight for years, I had 5 kids and never diet until after my last child who is now 10/1/2 . I tried pills ; counting calories you name it! I also was a heavy liquor drinker only at functions and that didn't help. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea 4 years ago and my doctor suggested the lap and and I did not go thru with it I was scared and backed out. Finally I two years ago I decided to go with the procedure. The doctor who was gonna do the surgery got moved to another hospital out if state ; but I didn't give up found another doctor and got the survey done.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

It is very depressing and all it did was make you either give up on eating or just continue yo eat wrong. I never want yo feel this feeling again its the worst. I thank God for the better feeling I have and the new look.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I can wear the clothes I couldn't wear before. I went from a 22 to 24 to size 12 /14. I want yo lose a little more . At least go to a 11/12.
