Andrew DeWitt, M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center

First impression was good. He's funny and engaging. Gives you the impression that he really knows his stuff. His staff was friendly. They just changed hospitals,so it was a little hectic for them. I felt that they were trying to support me, but getting the approval was a bit hairy. I only saw Dr. DeWitt one time during my stay in the hospital,and it wasn't even for a conversation. He just kind of popped his head in, answered a question about discharge, and was on his way. I guess if I had to choose bedside manner or proficiency in surgery,I'd choose the latter every day of the week. And so far, so good. I'm pleased

Dr. Dewitt and his staff are so GREAT!! I would recommend them to anyone wanting to have weight loss surgery!

From the first time I met Dr. Dewitt a year ago he has been so wonderful. His words to me were I am going to take care of you. So, I will put my life in his hands on Monday March 30, 2009 and I have no concerns at all that he will take care of me. He is a great Doc!!!

I've been contemplating surgery for the past year. I have a family member who went to Dr. DeWitt and my doctors office also referred him. I finally went to his seminar in September 2008. His seminar is very informational and you can tell that he is a surgeon who puts your welfare first. His staff is very helpful...as I was told they would be. Most of his staff have had WLS and have first hand experience. Dr. DeWitt's whole program is based on total care before and after surgery. I feel very comfortable in his care and that's saying alot!! He has a great bedside manner and I will experience his overall surgical competence soon. My family member is working on her 6th year and is pleased with everything related to Dr. DeWitt.

Dr. DeWitt and his stafff are awesome! They are kind, supportive and very knowledgeable. I could not have asked for a better surgeon or staff to help me with the paperwork, approval, nutrition, daily situations, surgery, etc. They are GREAT!!rnrnDr. DeWitt has reassured me countless times that I am in good hands and it's true!

1999 - Dr Beryl HarbergrnMy first visit was free. He showed a rnvideo outlining the process and the change inrnthe diet. He was very straight forward with the procedurernand the failures due to stretching out the stomachrnagain. He sent the letter to insurance andrnwas approved. Letter was sent on August 19th and rnapproved October 5th. VBG surgery is schedules Jan 17th, 2000.rnI cancelled my surgery. I did not like the mortality Rate.rn+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++rnrn2008 - Dr DeWittrnI am going to a seminar on November 8th. I am going to get a LapBand done. I am feeling good. Have to go through the approval process again. Current weight 270+, BMI 41.

I attended a seminar of Dr Dewitts I was very impressed with his over all mentality and down to earth personality. Then I meet him at the office appointment and to my surprise he sit down with me and answered all my questions (i thought he would run in and out WRONG). I have had a great experance using him so far.

What can I say about Dr. D? Well, he actually has a sense of humor, he's great at what he does, and he's the first doctor/surgeon that I've EVER been around that totally made me feel comfortable! He actually cares about what you have to say and what your concerns are. I'm not sure when he sleeps!! He makes himself available 24-7!! For after hours calls, when you leave a message with the receptionist, a nurse doesn't call you back, he does!! That is AWESOME, in my book!rnrnHis staff are all great too! Lori is always great and makes sure that she works her hardest to get your insurance company to approve your surgery and, on top of that, she's VERY supportive!! I LOVE his nurses. They are always very sweet to me and laugh at all my bad jokes!!rnrnBefore I end this review, I DEFINITELY couldn't leave off Mrs. Stefanie Dutton. Although she is not on Dr. D's staff, she made my stay at the hospital and preparations for surgery very pleasureable!! It also helped that she had gone through WLS herself and could provide personal experience on what to expect pre and post op. She was WONDERFUL and is an inspiration to those who have had or are going to have surgery.rnrnI think that this is the best decision I've ever made and I couldn't chose a better group of people to have interacted with!! Thanks for everything Dr. D and staff AND Stefanie! You guys have given me a second chance at life and I will be FOREVER grateful for that!rnrn--------------------rnPS: Keep in mind that, being such a great surgeon, Dr. D has A LOT of patients, so, please don't get irritated about the times you have to wait for him! If you understand everything he does (WLS AND general surgery), you would understand the wait. The wait is normally about 30 minutes, but I normally bring my Nintendo DS and play it until I'm called and that makes the time go by pretty fast.

Dr. DeWitt is a very professional doctor who shows concern for his patients. He is the person you want to have that knows the \"details in doctor terms\" but can explain them in terms for you to understand. His staff does a great job. Each time you call they always seem like they care. Beleive me that is a plus! I have been in the medical field and no one likes to be treated unkind.rnDr. DeWitt holds seminars for those who are insterested in gastric bypass or lap bands and I would recommend that you attend a class before you totally comitt to making the journey. rn****With the help of Dr. DeWitt and My Heavenly Father above I have overcome most of my obesity and am leading a healthy, more productive life. Thank goodness for the knowledge that Dr. DeWitt has and the goodness of his heart to take me as a patient. Dr. DeWitt could see I had potential to become a better person both physically and mentally.

I loved Dr. Dewitt!!!!! He is very caring and easy to talk to I would recommend him to anyone. He takes time with his patients and is very concerned. He has a great staff also.
