About Me
A native Hoosier, Dr. Sloan received his MD in 1979 from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and completed his residency at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis in 1984. His 25-year career is marked by numerous achievements including board certification by the American Board of Surgery and Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support. Dr. Sloan also is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, a member of the Fort Wayne Medical Society, and the Indiana State Medical Association. He performs bariatric surgery at Lutheran Health Network Bariatric Center.
Married with two children, Dr. Sloan enjoys snow skiing, playing golf with his son and planting trees (more than 200 so far!). He is also active in his church board, as well as a PACE member of the board of his alma mater, Indiana Wesleyan University. Dr. Sloan, is part of a medical mission team to the Dominican Republic once a year to provide surgery to the local people.
