Jon R. Pirrello Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

After reading all the wonderful comments about him and his staff that have been posted on Obesityhelp.com, I don't know why I was so nervous yesterday for my first visit with Dr. Pirrello. As soon as I walked though the door I felt welcome. I was greeted by a wonderful staff telling me \"its OK, there's no need to be nervous.\" Just to see their smiling faces and the concern in there eyes made me feel so must better. rn After filling out some paper work we watch a video. The video was great. After all the research I have done the video still contained important information! rnWhat to expect as far as follow up care and the nutritionist. You even got to watch part of an operation. I took lots of notes so I could share them with my family. I wish I could have taken the dvd home to my mom. So she wouldn't worry. rn Dr. Pirrello was very easy to speak with. He listened to all my husband and my thoughts and concerns. We weren't rushed out of the office, I was giving plenty of time to address any issues I may have had. Dr. Pirrello is very knowledgable in his work. A perfectionist. Which in the case it great. He takes pride in his work. I have nothing bad to say! It was wonderful. I know I have chosen the right surgeon for the job. rn I would just like to say thank you to Dr. Pirrello and his staff. Making the decision to have this surgery was a big step for me. After meeting yall I feel I have made the right decision! Thanks again and God bless!!!rn

I was already so excited when I first went to the appointment, that when I met the staff at Dr. P's it made me even more anxious to get the ball rolling. Dr. P is very calm and has an effective means of communicating with what you should expect and what he expects of you. He is very informative and takes as much time as you need to answer all the questions you may have. I feel very comfortable with Dr. P doing my surgery. I have been researching WLS for about 5 years now and I didn't want just anyone to operate on me. I truly believe the Lord has put in the right hands. rn

I had my consult with Dr. Pirrello today. I'm very impressed! He seems very thorough and makes his expectations very clear. He has a FANTASTIC sense of humor. When I left the office I was confident that I had indeed chosen the right surgeon and the right office.rn4-9-08rn

When I first met Dr. Pirrello, I thought he was very knowledgeable on everything that I asked him. He was very patient with my husband and myself. He had some concerns about some past stomach problems, so he sent me to have some tests to make sure that everything was okay before I could have this kind of surgery. That tells me he was concerned about my health. The office staff have always been very nice and helpful whenever I have had questions. I think that Dr. Pirrello cares about his patients and he is very through with everything. I would rate him to be a very caring Doctor.

Dr. Pirrello is very personable, caring & seems genuinely interested in his patients.rnHe will tell you exactly how it is & takes as much time with you as you need. He made me very informed of the risks. He never hurrys you & is willing to answer any and all questions. I've never had any type physician to spend time talking with me as he does!rnrnHis office staff is great. They all get to know you & make you feel welcome & comfortable. You can walk in any time to weigh in.rnrnI'm glad I chose Dr. Pirrello & would encourage anyone in this area considering the surgery to see him.rnrnI'm 2 weeks post-op & have found no negatives to date.

Dr. Pirrello is great. I had my first appointment with him 08/27/2007. I was very nervous but, Dr Pirrello and the CWLS staff did an excellent job creating an atmosphere that made my husband and I feel comfortable. They provided us with a ton of information that day and I hit them with a ton of questions. Dr. Pirrello took the time to answer all of them. Dr. Pirrello spoke to us in terms we understood. He gave us the good, and the bad. When I read his website I am impressed by his experience but, after speaking to him and listening to him it only reassures what I have heard about his competence. Under going major surgery is a big deal to me and Dr. Perrello truly aced his interview.

My first impression of Dr. Pirrello was of a very competent man with a professional manner, who listened to me and answered my questions knowledgeably and thouroughly. I never thought he was concescending or arrogant - the way some doctors can act. rnrnDuring my post-op care, I felt Dr. Pirrello stayed informed of my status and kept me informed of where we were at, what we were doing and what was expected to happen. At no time do I feel I received empty promises or less than first-class care.rnrnThe staff is friendly and professional and willing to help. I really have appreciated their warmth on the phones and their patient-forward attitudes.rnrnThere really isn't anything that I dislike about Dr. Pirrello, but he's not a 'warm fuzzy' guy. I don't want 'warm fuzzy' from my surgeon, I want someone who knows his stuff. My PCP can give me 'warm fuzzy'.rnrnDr. Pirrello's practice offers an optional, one year nutrition program for after care. I've decided to take advantage of the program. I'll meet with a nutritionist once a month for a year to make sure I'm staying on track.rnrnI believe that Dr. Pirrello and Carolina Weight Loss Surgery was the best decision I could have made. There is a reason they're a bariatric center of excellence and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I felt very comfortable at my first meeting with Dr. Pirrello as well as the staff. They've been very helpful and have always assisted me when needed.

DR. Pirello is very kind and informative. he is also very strict about weight loss before surgery. The office and the staff are very nice and comfortable. The aftercare problem consists of follow up visits with him as well as seeing a nutrition for a year. I would definitely recommed there office if you are considering weight loss suregry.
