    Peter S. Liao, MD, PhD, joined GBMC'S Comprehensive Obesity Management Program as Director of Bariatric Surgery in August 2008, where he specializes in laparoscopic gastric bypass, laparoscopic gastric banding and sleeve gastrectomy, as well as a number of other advanced laparoscopic procedures.

    Dr. Liao earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He also received a PhD in Pharmacology from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He trained in general surgery and completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Maryland. Prior to joining GBMC's program, Dr. Liao served as Medical Director of Bariatrics at Union Memorial Hospital.

    Dr. Liao, was very good. He spent time with me before surgery and the next day, office vists with him are never rushed. Any questions I had he was glad to answer. His office staff is also great. I would reccomend him also
