    Dr. Vivek Prachand is an expert in minimally invasive abdominal surgery. He is skilled at the most advanced laparoscopic procedures, and performs more than 200 laparoscopic abdominal surgeries each year. One of his special interests is weight loss surgery. In addition to performing the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and LapBand procedures, he is one of a handful of surgeons in the world who has performed the duodenal switch procedure completely laparoscopically in more than 100 patients.

    In addition to bariatric surgery, Dr. Prachand?s other clinical interests include the minimally invasive surgical treatment of disorders of the spleen, gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, achalasia, gastric tumors, cystic and endocrine tumors of the pancreas, pancreatic pseudocysts, adrenal glands, and abdominal wall hernias.
