Joe Bob Kirk Bariatric Surgeon D.O.

  Dr. JoeBob Kirk has dedicated his practice to bariatric medicine and surgery since 2002. He has been involved in more than 2000 weight loss surgeries. He is a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, American Society of Bariatric Physicians, and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. He is a 1994 graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. He completed his residency in general surgery in 1999 at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Dr. Kirk is the Medical Director for the bariatric program at Bailey Medical Center located in Tulsa/Owasso, Oklahoma. Dr Kirk’s practice is directed to the before, peri-operative, and after surgery care of the weight loss surgery patient. This program can and does provide medical management of the bariatric patient who does not require weight loss surgery. For both surgery and non-surgery bariatric patients this plan of care would include long term medical management.When not directly involved in the care of his patients, Dr. Kirk’s favorite hobbies include boating, riding his motorcycle, and playing farmer. He is a loyal OSU fan and cowboy supporter. He and his wife Susan reside in the Tulsa area, with other family living in Tulsa, Kansas City, Kansas and Austin, Texas.
