Matthew Cooper Bariatric Surgeon MD

Born and raised in Arizona, Dr. Matthew Cooper graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. Following his undergraduate studies, he attended medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine here in Tucson. He did his General Surgery Residency at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, HI where he received many rewards and recognition for his outstanding skills including Laparoscopic Surgery Resident of the Year. Finally, Dr. Cooper completed his fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Dr. Cooper specializes in advanced laparoscopic, bariatric, and minimally invasive surgery. As an expert in the treatment of the digestive tract, Dr. Cooper has authored several articles and textbook chapters on evaluation and treatment of these disorders. He has presented his research at local and national meetings across the country. Outside of work Dr. Cooper enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and 3 children and now resides in Southern California.
