Melanie Castro Physician Assistant (PA) PA-C

Melanie Castro grew up in the Bay Area in California. She attended the University of California- Berkeley and graduated with a degree in Molecular Cell Biology. She then attended Western University of Health Sciences where she was placed on the Dean’s List and graduated with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. She also did a clinical rotation with Dr. LePort’s group as a physician assistant student. Previously, she has worked in Family Practice and Orthopedic Surgery. She has also served as a sub-investigator for multiple clinical research studies. Melanie was enthusiastic to join Dr. LePort’s practice as she remembered how gratifying the field of Bariatric Surgery was as a student. She is a member of the California Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
