Chris, our Bariatric Nurse Manager has seventeen years of bariatric experience. She was one of the first nurses in this area to receive her bariatric nurse certification. With her years of experience, she helped develop the Advocare Bariatric Clinical Specialists and the former New Beginnings bariatric program. Her expertise includes the care of all gastric sleeve, gastric band, and gastric bypass patients. Chris passionately and compassionately coaches all clients through the continuum of care toward their goal of having safe, successful weight loss surgery for life.With 30 years of nursing experience, Chris Arroliga earned her Associates Degree in nursing from Gloucester County College. Her certifications include: bariatric (Certified Bariatric Nurse), diabetes (Certified Diabetes Educator), and stress management (Certified Stress Management Consultant). Chris served as a bilingual lecturer (Spanish) for a major pharmaceutical company and has been a professional speaker on topics of bariatric surgery, bariatric nutrition, sensitivity, weight management and diabetes.Chris has earned numerous awards such as: ‘Manager of the Quarter’, ‘Employee of the Month’, ‘Heart Savers’ Award, numerous Clinical Excellence awards, and the 2008 Governor’s Award for Nursing Excellence in Community Nursing.
