Preserving Muscle Mass During GLP-1 Therapy: Nutrition and Integrative Approaches

GLP-1 receptor agonists have transformed the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes, offering substantial benefits in weight loss and metabolic health. However, these therapies may lead to unintended lean muscle loss, potentially impacting long-term physical function, metabolic stability, and weight maintenance. This presentation will highlight practical, evidence-based strategies to preserve muscle mass during GLP-1 treatment. Integrative and functional medicine approaches will also be briefly explored to provide a well-rounded framework for supporting muscle preservation and optimizing patient outcomes.
