Cindy, I completely understand where you're coming from. I had my surgery only 10 days before yours and I, too, have slowed in the weight loss department. I have hit mini-plateaus here and there, but I just keep at it and I eventually break through. Remember to eat properly, take your vitamins and exercise! Mix up your exercise routine every once in a while so that your body doesn't get used to what you're doing. In other words, keep it guessing so it keeps getting rid of the weight. Most importantly, keep your chin up and have faith in yourself. Also, remember that EVERYONE is different and we all lose at different rates. I fully expected to have 100 pounds gone by my 6-month post-op mark, but was somewhat disappointed with myself when I was only at 74 lbs gone. Once I visited my surgeon for my 6-month check-up and found that he was quite pleased with my progress, I decided that it was OK that I didn't make it to -100 that soon and that I would NOT beat myself up about it and just party when I hit that landmark. Hang in there!!! You'll get there!

Last night my son had a friend over to stay the night. The last time this kid saw me was 6 months ago. he is in the 1st grade and cute as a button. anyways he was eatting his dinner and he looked up at me and said "Chris, your getting skinny." i said thank you and he followed with "yeah, you look weird" I couldn't stop laughing. But i guess to a young child they have a hard time taking the change in too. He has always know me as 300lbs his whole life and now the new me is weird to him. So i asked hi was i weird good or wired bad? He giggled and said good. That kid is so cute. Gotta love em' Christina

I just had to share this with everyone. Just a little piece of happiness Last night I was talking with my five year old granddaughter who appeared to me to have not noticed any change in grandma at all. Well she asked me how old was I and asked was I 15 I smiled and said yes. and she pondered for a moment and said to me grandma are you starting over and I said what do you mean and she said to me with the utmost confidence you must be starting over because your getting smaller I smiled so big and so deep in my heart I have been not seeing the 180 pound loss truly and feeling blah because I still have almost a hundred to go and feeling just a little worried about plateaus etc. and a five year old had the cure to my blah all along. We are starting over we are reborn most people never get the chance to change their entire being a second time like we have. I will keep on now with a smile and a little more strenght. And I certainly do not mind being fifteen for my grandchild

Ok it is muscle weakness and the excess skin hanging down and pulling on your weak muscles or something like that is what was explained to me by my pcm.

I've been having a horrible time with back pain -- I couldn't even make it through a 2-hour rehearsal for the concert band I perform with. But I've been hitting the gym extra hard, and I'm seeing my pain lessen as I work more and more with my back and weight-lifting. I had attributed the pain to muscle weakness from the weight loss... what else would cause it? And how does it tie in to the tummy tuck issue? I'm curious! Thanks! Kathie

Please, keep me updated on what the Plastic surgeon says about the backpain and tummy tuck. I Would love to hear what he/she would have to say.
