Just curious but how much have you lost? I am two days behind you and I am on my first real plateau too. I have lost 66 with 30 to go. I haven't lost any in 6 weeks. It is real frustrating but since I am almost 8 months out and it is my first plateau I am not letting it get to me too bad. My eating has not been at its best either. Some of those old habit are trying to come back. We both need to get ahold of this and keep going. Good luck to you. Leanne

Topic: Change in Weather?
I am Soooo tired. I was just wondering if anyone else is feeling the way I do. I keep blameing it on the change in weather. Other people close to me have also complained or I would be more worried. I am not due to have my bloodwork checked for another 3 months. Each time it has been just fine in the past. Any others feeling this way or should I be worried. Debbie

Topic: Confession
I have a confession to make. I have been having mixed feelings. I am so so happy for all of you that have hit the 100 + lbs off. But am still not there. I have only lost 96. And now i am on a plateau. I try to be up beat, and alot of wonderful things have happened to me. But, I get so discouraged and sad. I look at how great you all are doing and i am finding it hard to check in weekly. Does anyone else feel this way? Or am I a selfish person? I when I first stared this I was 308 and now i am 202, but on surgery day I weighed 298. So i humor my self by saying that my start weight was 308. Just so I feel better. Funny, huh? To top it off I have battled Bulemia for years. And this week has been a week for hell. I want to benge soooooo bad. But I can't. I fear starting to eat and not stopping. So I am now skipping meals, and staying away for foods. I have been drinking alot of coffee. I know this is bad. But like i said, week form hell. Well thanks for listening. You gals are great. and i do enjoy reading you posts. It is the comparing my self to you all that is hard. Christina (sorry for the pity party)

I was told never to eat more than 4 oz per meal. And I usually keep my snacks down to 2 oz. Best of luck. Dawn -100

Topic: How many ounces?
I know I have read this somewhere but now I have forgotten. I have hit my first BIG frustrating plateau. Haven't lost a thing really for over a month and 3 pounds just keep bouncing around. I am about 20 pounds from where I want to be around Christmas and I am not a happy camper! I think I am eating too much and gotta get a grip. I know I have to cut out my snacks too now and I haven't been successful at that yet either. How many ounces are we supposed to be able to eat at one time in 30 minutes?

You aren't doing anything wrong, your body just wants to rest right now. It has fought a hard battle to get rid of 109 pounds of fat and is confused. You still have a 10 month window to lose weight so don't panic. Like you I haven't been a fast loser and I have a lot more weight to lose than you do. I've lost 103 pounds since surgery and find it slowing down more than I'd like. I work out in the gym 45 min 5 days a week, eat no more than 800 calories, drink my water, get my protein in every day. We will do whatever it takes to finish this process up. I'm sure it's harder when you get that close and want the weight to drop. It's surprising you haven't hit a plateau before now. My weight has only been dropping every other week for some time now, but I remember the first time it happened I went into a panic. I read about others who only lose once a month as they get further out. It's perfectly natural for you to feel hungrier as time goes on. Our pouches stretch for 2 years and it's a scientific fact that it's not from over eating. It's just a natural process. My surgeon stressed that we should eat dense protein (steak, pork, veal, lamb, etc.) and not drink for a half hour after we eat, which would make us feel full longer. I notice when I eat meat loaf, chili, cheese, etc that I want to eat again before the next meal so I think he knows what he's talking about. Soon you will be posting that you can't stop losing. My dream is to one day be able to do one of those post, but I don't think it will happen. I always think just add carbs to your diet and watch the weight loss stop. Apparently it doesn't work that way for some folks. Best of luck for your continued success on your wls journey.

I am starving all the time and eat way more than I did,I actually cannot even eat enough physically to get stay full. When you exercise your metabolism is very high. You might need more calories actually not less so your body doesnt hold onto every calorie .You have to eat to lose and the more you work out the hungrier you will get,if you are Truly HUNGRY NOT HEAD HUNGER,its your body saying wooo nelly feed me feed me I need more energy to keep up with the new lean muscle mass and higher energy! It sounds whack but trust me its very true the higher your metobalic rate and energy needs more u gotta eat.Good luck!

Plateaus SUCK !! However, because you are so close to goal the weight it will be harder to come off. Remember all those skinny people saying if I could just lose these 10 lbs. Well you are now one of those skinny people. It will work for you - just give your body time to adjust to this new life. Dawn -100
