Topic: Question for the Day...
Hey all! Here is the question for the day: What interesting traveling experience have you had since your surgery? I can't wait to share in your good times! God Bless! Barbie 281/196/170ish **My answer** I can't beat my former post with the flirt story - but if I had to say something else, it would be all the people willing to help me, talk to me and make glances towards me. I really liked my trip to Boston where one of the van drivers at the hotel paid special attention to my grandmother, niece and I during our stay. He went out of the way to pick us up and take us to places out of his route. I think the coolest single thing though is to fit in the seats comfortable with leg room! Take Care!

I'm gonna save this story to share with people who are still struggling with the decision whether or not to have surgery. Did you ever tell him you'd had gastric bypass? Did you show him your "before" picture????????????????????? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thank you to everyone for responding. I feel better about where I am at. I want to try the plateau diet and see if that might work. I appreciate all the feedback and understanding. Tracy Lap RNY 1/30/04 Dr. Potts 240/162/?

Hi Barbie, I can relate to how you felt. I recently had an similar experience in a restaurant. I kept looking behind me to see who that good looking younger man was flirting with. Turns out it was me. I am way out of practice in flirting but it sure was fun. Hope he calls and you can connect. Sounds like a fun time and certainly good for the ego. If not you can treasure the flirtation.

I wasn't on a plateau but slowed down to 2 lbs every other week at months 5 & 6. I went on the Stillman diet in month 7 and lost 11 pounds in 9 days. Cycled off of it then did it four weeks later and lost 9 pounds. Both times I come off of Stillman I gained 2 pounds but it was still a nice monthly loss. I work out in the gym 45 minutes every morning so it wasn't a lack of exercise. My routine is varied from day to day so I don't think my body could have grown accustomed to the exercise. I have not eaten any sugar and very few refined carbs since surgery either. Stillman is a drastic diet designed to break plateaus. If you are desperate it will get the carb craving under control and give you a good weight loss. If you are interested go to your internet search engine and type "Stillman diet". Basically all you can eat is beef, veal, lamb, seafood, boiled eggs. Best of luck!

Hi Tracy, No one is here to yell at anyone, we are here to support each other and that includes when we are having problems! I was on a plateau for 8 weeks, I accidently fell off it by starting to eat salads for lunch each day, you see about a month and a half before that I had burned myself out on salads and proceeded on eating other things. Hense my plateau, sometimes you come by things accidently and then it hits ya. I too had fallen off the excercise train and started eating white surgary stuff, but it wasn't hard to get back on, but it's the head hunger stuff. Your right about the tool it is always there, but you have to jump back on the train to use it.... Try a change of pace eat something new and exciting, go for a walk somewhere else, hopefully I'm helping here. I will change something if not just shake it up! Catherine 275/196/150ish
