You know the answer as well as we do to your question. Increase your protein and quit snacking. It seems those carbs are our comfort foods though. I have to play a game with myself. I can snack if I want to but it has to be protein and in a limited quantity. One oz cheeze, 8 pork rinds, 10 almonds, etc. Only one snack between meals, etc. I set the rules so I don't have anybody to get upset with once the rules are in place. Often I find given the choice of protein or nothing, I don't eat. Set your own rules and abide by them. Sorry to hear about the divorce. It's hard to change our lifestyle even if it's for the best. It's even harder if it's not our choice. You will adjust in time but the holidays are not a fun time to have to adjust to being alone.

I had surgery 1/20/04. Lost 58 pre-op and 114 post op -172 pounds total. I hope to lose another 45 pounds, then have plastic surgery and end up 150-160. Pat 410/352/238/155

As a paramedic, I can honestly say that Medic Alert bracelets are a lifesaver. However, please, please make sure that it looks like a medic alert and not a piece of jewlery. If it looks like a medic alert braclet/necklace our eyes will stop and notice it, if it looks like jewelry, it will probably be ignored until we have more time to take that kind of thing into account ... And if you are unconscious so can't tell us that info anyway, we probably won't have time. The point of a medic alert bracelet is to save your life and stop potential complications should you be incapacitated and unable to communicate in an emergency with health care professionals. Important things (IMO) to list according to importance 1) true drug allergies (including seafood = iodine) 2) acute medical conditions (heart, lung) 3) gastric bypass, NSAIDs ASA (unless, like me, you are truly allergic to aspirin and NSAIDS and then they should be listed first) --

I have been thinking about ordering a medical ID bracelet and was wondering if any of you wear one. If so, what exactly did you have engraved on yours? Char

I have lost 120 pounds and would like to lose maybe 30 more. That will take me down to about 160. That's about what I weighed in high school. People have started saying that I don't need to lose any more weight. They must be crazy or blind because I am still over 190 pounds and only 5'4" tall. Donna

I was 342 the day of my surgery. I am 11 months out and I am now 209. So, a total of 133 pounds so far. I am hoping to lose at least another 39 pounds. It is coming off so slow now though. If I don't lose anymore, I will still consider the surgery a success. Mellisia 342/209/170
