I feel for you !!!! I have been doing almost the same thing I find that I cant eat alot of reg. foods like meat, chicken, veggies, when I sit down for a meal I eat very little and then I get full fast, like is expected with this surgery, but if I snack on cookies, potatoe chips, melba toast, it seems I can eat some much of it.... and i do............ I can have a bag of pepridge farms cookies in two days.. I dont understand I have been stuck at 184 since July I started at 275lbs so I feel so much better and some of my friends tell me not to loose any more weight, but my doctor wants me to loose 20 or 25 lbs more.. Topic: Sabotaging myself! Help!
Hi guys, I don't know what has come over me the last few weeks, but I am 17 lbs from my goal weight and it seems like all I've been doing lately is eating, and eating the WRONG things. I feel like I'm on a feeding frenzy! It's just nuts. I actually went and bought a can of Pringles the other day and literally finished them off in 2 days. I have NEVER done that. Today, I bought my 3 yr old a Mrs. Fields cookie and went ahead and bought myself one too and proceeded to wolf it down. I am so disgusted with myself I could just spit. Is anyone else going thru this? It has come on so sudden, and I feel so close to getting to my goal, I just have to ask myself what the hell is going on. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am so furious with myself! Kim R/az

I have went down a lot. Before surgery I was weighing 271lbs lost 3lbs when I went to get approve for surgery and the day of my surgery weighing 268lbs on January14,2004 I am weighing now as of today 11/17/04 155lbs a total of 110lbs that I lost and loving it. Right now I do not know if my stomach has shrunk I feel nauseated all the time unless am getting ready to lose weight again... Every time I lose I get sick or I use the bathroom alot and then I would lose 10 more pounds, unless I am under stress. Has anybody experience this feeling. Also I have been having fibermyalgia pains in my upper back. I am off of my insulin. as of 2 months ago. I have not weighted this weight in a very long time and it feels wonderful!! This is my Deam come true Thanks Dr. Barbara wonderful man indeed

Hi Trish, Seems like alot of us are in the same boat. I have lost 86.5 lbs and I am 17 lbs from goal. My loss has almost come to a screeching halt. I am DETERMINED to get to my goal of 130 lbs!!! I guess we just keep on doing what we need to do...protein, water and exercise. I'm certain it will come off. I was feeling very discouraged this week and decided to go clothes shopping and ATTEMPT to get into a size 10 pair of pants. Guess what? THEY FIT!!! I was so ecstatic I almost started to cry. So you see, we may not be showing it on the scales but our bodies are still losing. Keep the faith, it will happen for us! Kim R/az

That is so great! Those plateaus drive us all crazy and they keep happening all the way down. I hear that it is just your body adjusting to the new you, but it is still exciting when you drop down again!

I wouldnt worry about it either. I don't bother going to my surgeon anymore, I talked to my PCP and she has agreed to order the blood tests that I need done. If i were having problems with anything, thats when I would continue the appointments with the surgeon.

Those last 15 - 20 pounds are hard to lose so just keep up with what you are doing and it will come off ! remember it has only been 10 months and that is alot of weight to lose in 10 months you body needs to catch up ! good luck to all brenda

You have to keep on trucking it will come off..increase your protein and water and exercise and it help you off the plateau.. I only wish i was in a 12 thats what frustrates me im at 195 pounds from 323. less than 20 pounds from you and in a 19 junior...alll this stupid stomach skin is killing me..all bottoms are too big in legs and waist but have to wear that size cause of skin...I do have another surgery consult next week and i cant wait. I think we are all on track since there is no real guideline what you have to do is look how much weight you have lost in a short time and remember everyone says the last 20 is the hardest just dont give up..keep up the good work!!!!
