Topic: RE: Just a little blue!!!!!
I had my surgery 01/28/04. I've lost 117 pounds and do not want to loose anymore. I feel frail, I force myself to eat every 2 to 3 hours between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. I can't eat very much at a time. I cry very easily, but I hope this will pass. I had my hernia repaired about 4 weeks ago, it still hurts and I'm having more problems with nausea than I had in the beginning. Sorry I am such a grump. My husband says I'm too skinny and I feel embarrassed. All the size 12's I bought in August are a little loose, I've started buying size 10, but I can't afford anymore clothes for awhile. Everyone's journey is different, but I sense you are just as 'upset' over loosing 'too slow' as I am about being 'too skinny'. Maybe we are both slightly hyper sensitive, maybe tomorrow we will see things in a more balanced perspective. I weigh 152 now and am 5'7. I should be ecstatic, but I am scared that I'll keep loosing weight, and will always feel nauseous.

Topic: I am worried.
I was just informed by my Dr.'s office that he is closing his door. Since this is the dr that did my surgery, that means that i will have no follow up appointments. Should i worry or just carry on? It is not like i really had any follow up care anyways. I have only seen him 2 times since my surgery. once the week after and once at 8 months.

Topic: Question of the week 11/16
Hey there January Jumpers!
To get our mind off of how much the scale HASN'T been moving lately... here is the question du jour...
What has always been your favorite winter activity? Will that change this from this year on due to your new beginning?
What are your family/friend traditions for the holidays you celebrate? Will those change any this year because of your new life?
I'll start:
My favorite activities have always been to be with my family as much as possible. I also like to take in the cooler FL weather - most of us wait all year to experience the mild weather and laugh at those digging themselves out of the snow!
I also put up the Christmas tree with a few of my nieces and nephews on the day after Thanksgiving. I avoid the malls, because the deals only get better closer to Christmas without the major rush.
This year will be different because I am traveling. I have also been more active outdoors and will now try to include part of my family in more outdoor activities during the holidays. Most of my family tends to gain a few pounds then & if outside more - I bet they will keep that to a minimum.
Have a great holiday season all!

Topic: RE: Is this it for me?
Trish, I am right where you are at with the loss, too. I stopped losing at the beginning of October though. I have lost 133 lbs, but keep going back and forth between 173 and 175. I have kicked up the water, protein, exercise, all that stuff and am still not losing anymore. I have 15-20 more pounds to go to hit my goal (being "normal" on the BMI chart). I try to not let it get me down but it sometimes really ****** me off.
I am soooo happy that I am down from 26-28 very tight to a 10 and sometimes an 8, but I want more! I wonder if, when I finally get that last 15-20 off, if I won't be happy with that and will still want more.
I am just going to stick with the program and feel that, eventually, the weight will have to start coming off again.
Keep your spirits up. You've come a long way, baby!
Take care..........
Jill

I know this may sound silly at first, but think about it. If you increase your activity level you will lose some more. How can you do that without spending a lot of time and effort? I read some time back that those "nervous-type" people who always seem to be jiggling in their seats, tapping their fingers, etc actually use more energy and calories than "calm-type" people who sit still. So I play lively CD's at work and tap my foot under the desk and try to type fast in time to the music. In the car I really do a lot of seat-dancing! If I have to walk to the copy machine, I try to walk as fast as I can. I can't guarantee that these little things work, but they might!

Topic: RE: Hair Problems
HI SWEETIE!!!!
My switch sister, Im so proud of your weight loss
, I bet I wouldnt even recognise you now..
As for hair loss, I had it really bad from months 3-7, and I color as well.. I switched to Vista Vitamins (Blech, they taste awful dont get the chewables), bought Nioxxin from Walmart's hair salon when it had a 2 for one sale, got on B-12 shots, and upped my protein again..And its almost stopped now..The vista vitamins are gross and expensive (Remember, dont get the chewables, yee-uck
) but they have really helped...
Best of luck to you, and big hugs are being sent your way

Topic: Is this it for me?
I have to ask...Is this it for me? I lost 130 pounds in my first 8 months, (down to 180 from 310) which I know is great, but I can not seem to break this plateau since August. I have only lost a couple of pounds since August.
I know that everyone seems to be going through a plateau around now, but I just cant help but think I may be done.
How is everyone else doing with their weight loss and plateaus? Am I on track? Am I done? What can I do to change this horrible plateau?
I did read the other recent posts, but I am sooo close to goal (20 pounds), I just cant stand this anymore. I just want to get into a size 10 and am teetering on a size 12 for the past 3 months.
HELP!!!
