Topic: RE: Goal?
Originally my surgeon set a goal of 170 for me, then lowered my goal to 160 in April because i was doing so well. He was sure I would reach the 160 goal by July...WRONG! I started out at 304.. am now 174, so I have lost 130 pounds all told. I hit the 174 mark in mid-September, but gained back a bit of the weight and hit 174 again a few weeks ago. At this point I am hoping for hitting goal by January 12...my 1-year anniversary. However, whenever I reach my goal, or if ever...I know that I am thankful that i have gotten to where i am right now!! Life is good again and health is the most important gift we can give ourselves. At this point any further weight loss is just gravy. I feel great and thats what matters most. Good luck to all of you!!! Hugs, Harriet 304/174/160ish....

Topic: RE: What to do?? HELP!!!
Hi Kristal, I have been having the same problem, I can eat alot more, and have been doing so. I have noticed that I am still loosing weight, and that I only plateau when I am trying to watch out what I'm eating. I do still try to make healthy choices but sometimes I do cheat, and boy sometimes pay the price. Stomach aches, bowel aches, on and on. But that nasty ol' head hunger gets the best of me and I give in.... So don't feel alone, I'm right there with ya! Catherine 275/193/150ish 1/22/04

My goal is 150 too. I am about 5'7" and thought that was a healthy weight for that height. I started at 311 and I have lost 106 pounds so far with 55 more to go. I am hoping to lose that my June 2005, but who knows.

Topic: Newest Challenge Overcome!
Hey Gang! I want to tell you of my newest accomplishment! This last Saturday, I ventured out to Cloudland Canyon in Northern Georgia and hiked and 8-mile trek in and out of the canyon and around the rim. I got to witness one of God's most beautiful creations with a sun-drenched waterfall amongst to breathtaking face rock creations. It was difficult - don't let me kid you. But every step was worth it! I also met a great guy that spent the entire day with me. He was so nice and the most interesting guy I have met in a long time. He drove me home and kissed my cheek before I got in the car. This journey gets sweeter and sweeter each day, even with the longest plateaus! ps - pics are on my profile. God Bless! Barbie 281/194/170ish

Topic: RE: HORRIFIC Plateau
Hi Barbie (((((HUGS TO ALL THE STAND STILLERS))))))) I went through this and probly still will because I have been the same weight again for a couple weeks. I was having this problem a couple mnths back in August until Oct so I know how you all feel. I went out one weekend did some dancing and was not at home doing my ususaly routine and broke the stand still and lost 4 lbs then the next week 2 more and now I am standing still again so try shaking things up a bit. I think the person here who said that her MD said if we where this weight once the body wants to stay there makes alot sense and perhaps that is what happens and we need to just kick ass and say HEY LETS MOVE ON TO GOAL!!!!!!!!!! I am now 168 and I would love to be 130 but I think from 6mnths on it just got so much harder so just know it will break.

HI GANG!! I had my surgery Jan 5th and am down 293 to 164...and struggling with a plateau since the beginning of Oct. Does our body just reach a point where it is happy or does it start fighting with us on losing that last 20 lbs. Another thing that bites is I am still considered overweight according to my BMI...am I taking this to personal...am I the only one that feels like no matter how hard you stick with just a straight protein and water intake it becomes frustrating. It is great that I can do an hour on my tread mill at 3.5 mph at a 45 degree incline since walking this time last year made me huff and puff like the little engine that could. Basiclly now I am happy to finally find a group that is at the same time line as me.......YAAA THANK YOU!!!

Hey Barbie! I think we are all here. I have been stuck since 9-7-04 basically. Hovering around the same 145 pounds. I did finally go down to 144 last week (I FINALLY GOT TO GET MY MASSAGE!!!!! I got one at 50 pounds and said I would get another at the next 25 ....didn't know it would take me 6 months) but this week have bounced up and down between it and 146. I think this is a normal thing and it is NOT the end by any means from what I have learned talking to people farther out. Just keep doing what we are supposed to as well as we can! You look great!

Topic: RE: bruising ?
Hi Albert. Now that you mention it, I have noticed alot more brusing than normal. It could be an indication of low iron I think? Have you had blood work done recently? If I am not mistaken, when you are anemic, you tend to bruise more. Call you doctor for his take on it. Leanne

Topic: Goal?
How far away from goal are you? How did you determine what your goal is? and how much did you have to lose? and how much have you lost? I am 18 lbs from goal. I just thought 150 sounded good. If you go by ideal body weight, I needed to lose 107 but my goal was to lose 95 lbs. I have lost 77 lbs. Leanne ps. I also lost diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesteral and high triglycerides!!!!!
