Hi Kathy! I know this isn't quite exactly the same thing, but before I had surgery (last year), whenever I didn't eat regularly and have something in my stomach at all times, I felt SEVERELY nauseous. I had signs of minor ulcers which can cause this sometimes. This is nothing serious, but it's something to consider - just check with your doctor and make sure that your pouch is OK (I'm sure you're fine, but it never hurts to check). I find now after surgery and down by 187 pounds, that problem no longer exists. I do find that if I do not eat regularly enough, I become very weak and tired - but I never feel nauseous the way I used to. Just a thought - please keep us updated on how you're doing. God bless, Michael

Dear Connie: I completely understand the pain you are talking about. I had a great deal of pain just as you describe, and I went to doctors, etc. - and my primary care physician was wonderful. The pain was attributed to our great amount of weight loss, and our body is changing its center of gravity. Muscles are working in areas of our shoulders and back that werent having to work before. As your body adjusts to its new weight this will get better. My pain was so severe, and it especially affected my right shoulder joint so badly, that my doctor injected cortizone into the joint. That provided tremendous relief. So, I will bet you that it's your body readjusting - even as bad as it hurts, because I was convinced that my shoulder was dislocated when it was really OK. Just take it easy, stay in communication with your doctor, and go with the flow. You are FABULOUS! God bless, Michael

I take 500 mg of magnesium every morning and at night. I found out that insomnia is sign of adrenal fatigue, your adrenaline glands are stressed so they cannot make enough of the sleep hormones you need to sleep. Try the magnesiun with calcium citrate before bed, see how it works for you, It has helped me a lot. Good luck.

Connie, I have the same achyness in my right arm and shoulder, and I didn't even relate it to the bypass surgery, I thought I have bursitis or something like that. Hmmmmmmmmm? I see someone else replyed with the same complaint, we are all 9 months post op, too. My problem now is I have a large incisional hernia that I need surgery for, and may have a tummy tuck at the same time. I have lots of gas, and my husband and I think it is from all the vitimins I chew. Take care, Lark

Kathy, Ya know ~ I don't get sick, but I get DROP-DEAD tired if I don't eat every few hours. I am good about getting my fluids in - and since I eat so much protein, I think my body misses the carbs. (Just recently I made a big push to get back on track to alleviate this nightmarish long plateau!) It may only be a cheese stick, but at least my body gets something every few hours to work on increasing my energy level. And you know what? It works! When I'm getting really tired - I realize that I haven't eaten in a few hours. Maybe that's what you need to do to not get sick? Barbie 281/191/170ish?

It really is an individual thing. Having had a small piece of a pill get stuck once was the absolute most excruciating pain I have ever experienced. Heck, I almost called 911 and as a paramedic in the county, that not something I do lightly. Having gone through that experience, however, I will never take a whole pill again. Lida

I just thought I was maybe tossing and turning and didnt realise it at night...Im glad you posted because I dont feel as alone. Donna
