Congrats Christina! Sounds like your doing great. I'm about 20 lbs. away from the century club, I am resolved to my plateau weightloss , I think that is just me. As long as I don't gain, I'm gonna be happy... Catherine 275/195/150ish 1/22/04

Hey Becky. I am right with you. I started at 245 and I weight 170. My surgery was on 1/29. I couldn't break 180 and finally got past that now I guess I am gonna sit at 170 for a while. Hang in there. It will come off. Leanne

Hi Betty, I still can't get used to going up to a 'regular' rack (without X's in them) and looking at stuff that I can actually wear. For the first time in my life I enjoy shopping and go now just to look and not because I HAVE to find SOMETHING to wear for whatever event I am dreading going to because I will feel so fat and out of place. NO MORE YEAH I find that fitday.com log of foods eaten and activities works for me, also tracks weight. But the way they make you enter the food is a bit tedious. But it is cool to look back 2, 3 or more months and see the change in weight and activities. The on line version is free, I haven't tried the offline (pay) program yet. Sarah

Hi Carol, Like everyone else has said, we all lose at different rates and styles. I have lost 134# since surgery Jan 6th. I started at 296 and am 5'7". I have been VERY committed to the exercise and went to the Y religiously an average of 5X a week for up to 3 hours at a time. I have been taking Pilates, which I LOVE although at first it was really hard for me as my flexibility wasn't that great, but could see changes within 3 weeks and it keeps getting better, only not as fast as at first. All that being said, my Mom became very ill in July and passed away 9/14/04 and what with one thing and another I have been only averaging 2X a week at the Y since July, and the loss has REALLY slowed down. In fact, I have lost the same 4# in the last 6 weeks, about 6X over! Just think I would be way beyond my goal if I hadn't regained the same 4# 6X over!!!!!! I did not really believe the ex and water would make that much of a difference, but it is something I have proved to myself these past few weeks! Also I still do a protein drink everyday, I use the EAS Advantedge Carb Control fruit (mixed Berry) drink. The other fruit drinks make me very constipated and the shakes I have gotten so tired of, but love the mixed berry. It is hard to find though. I encourage you to try to do some formalized form of ex 3X a week, even if it is only a 30 min walk in the park with a friend, just make it fun and drink the water while you are doing it and another 8 oz an hour before or after and track your progress somewhere, see if it makes a difference to you in a month! Bet it will! Good luck Sarah

Topic: RE: Pills
Hi there, Brenda! I believe that at this stage of the game, pills should be OK. They always state the "crush or split" scenario to be extra safe and careful when giving patients directions. However, you might want to try some small pills, just to ease into it - but I have no trouble swallowing pills at all. Good luck and take care!

Topic: PLATEAU
If anyone has any ideas on how to break a plateau.....please help! I just can't break 170. I've been here for 4 month. I'm getting so discouraged. I have 34 lbs more to lose. My body just won't let go! It's starting to become very depressing. Reading all the other messages, I'm way behind in weight loss. It looks like everyone else has lost or close to losing 100lbs. Topic: Lunch Box Ideas
Can anyone give me some new lunch ideas. I try to carry my lunch and snacks to work each day, but I'm in need of some new high protein ideas. I've been on a long stand still with my weight loss so thought it might be good to just change what I've been eating. Please help I'll take lots of ideas. Thanks, Becky 246/170
