Stretch marks, anyone?

I have noticed as I've lost weight that I have the most humongous, grossest stretch marks! I do NOT have kids - this is all from gaining about 150 pounds in about 3 or 4 years. I, of course, knew that I had these stretch marks, but I was examining the inside top of my right thigh this weekend - the very, very top, and they are so bad, it's like chunks of flesh have disintegrated out of my thigh! I know, this is a very gross visual, but has anyone else noticed that any stretch marks they might have are even *worse* now that the fat isn't there to fill them out? I would definitely NOT trade the weight loss for the stretch marks, so I'm OK - I just wanted to know if I'm alone out here!! YIKES! Thanks, Beth

Dawn, that is too funny. I am going to Laughlin, Nevada next week for vacation with my friends - boating, jetskiing, etc., and I am happy that I look less like a beached whale in my swimsuit, but now I'm like - OMG, they are all going to see these gross marks as they will stand right out as the rest of me gets darker!! Oh well, such is life! Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone! Beth

Yikes! I am right there with you, there's stretch marks in places I never thought possible. Agreed, I'd never trade off WLS for anything. I am trying to help the process with firming creams and massage therapy. My arms, sides and breasts are the worst.

Firming creams -- that is something I am going to have to look into!! There are supposed to be creams that make them less visible too, right? I will have to do some googling this afternoon (I have already spent all my time at work here on the board - I feel guilty! ) Also, at the "places I never thought possible". It's funny how I find myself examining myself in the mirror much more than I usually did. I don't get nearly as depressed now! That is a definite PLUS! Beth

I'm a tiger, too. I've been tanning to upkeep the tan I started in Florida and the tops of my thighs are striped, rooooooooooooaaaarrrrrrrrrr!!! When I was in Florida, the tops of my thighs didn't see as much sun because of the way I was sitting, so I didn't notice the stretch marks then. But now that my whole leg is nice and brown, those lines are really noticeable!! Yuck! We're going to Vegas in the beginning of June. Maybe I should head over to the Mirage and join the white tigers there!! Lisa S. 227/171/140

OMG, I have been thinking about starting to tan. I never thought about the stretch marks being lighter. GRRRRRRRrrrrrrrr. I dont know anything about the stretch mark products, the stuff I've worked with has been celulite reduction. The best one is from a massage therapist, its call celliminate - I found a website but need to research it more, I am almost out. It smells cinnamonny, too, which is my new favorite spice.

Girl don't get me started on the stretch marks!!! I had them before I had kids so I can't even blame them My body now looks like a road atlas from all the lines, and my bat wings have lost enough fat that they look like chunks of me have been taken out too, You are definately NOT alone I feel the same way, but hey I did this to be healthy not perfect right??? Take care, Steph
