A Milestone For Me!

Hi All!!! Today I rode my horse, Teddy! I haven't been on him since my Sophomore Year and that had to be like 6 years ago lol, ouch! I started out by lunging him (me in the middle of the arena, he on a long lead rope going in circles) and at first he would NOT listen- so I made him run around in a circle until he would listen. Then he listened and would do everything I told him to do- walk, then canter (run slowly), back down to walk, jog, canter, etc each direction. So we did that about 25 minutes. then I bridled him and got on! I had to use a step to help, but my next goal is to get on without any help! I walked around for about 15 minutes since my stirrups were too short, I guess I've grown since sophomore year lol, and tomorrow I'll fix my stirrups and maybe do some jogging. I was sooo nervous to get on him.. my heart was racing. But once I was up there it was all good. Whooo hoooo! How absolutely wonderful! I love horses, but I am so allergic to them, they will put me in the hospital. I live on horse property too. They had to remove the dirt the horses lived on before I could move it. So I know it has to be so wonderful that something that kept you off the horse for so long is gone. Enjoy every day, it is great exercise.

Hi Kristi! I'm sorry you're allergic! DO NOT come to my house then! We have three! LOL The hospital is 45 minutes away and we don't want to visit I sure felt the burn after I got off he he he.

Come on out and he'd be happy to let you ride him!

Jaci, that is sooooo awesome! I love horses and horseback riding (took lessons in my teens), and have been really bummed and embarassed with myself that I can't go because of weight limits all horse stables have for renting horses. I am only about 15 pounds away now! That is such a great moment for you!! Beth

I can't believe there are weight limits! I weighed more than I do now when I rode him last, that's terrible!

Jaci, that must have been a wonderful moment for you, congratulations!!!! By the way, I love your new picture. It always makes me smile when I see one of your posts! Aww, thanks Lisa! It took forEVER for my new pic to be posted, I think it got lost he he. If need be, send it in again and put a different topic/urgent question, whatever to get someone to reply. Thats what I had to do and it was up about 2 weeks later.
