Online Dating Sites
Now that my whole life is changing -( I'm feeling better and looking better) I want to become more sociable. I work for a big company but don't care to get involved with someone at work.
Have any of you tried any of the online dating sites? Which ones? Was it successful/ fun?
I am thinking about eHarmony, but don't know of anyone that has used them before.

Hello Girls:
That is so so funny, looks like we are thinking on the same track. I was on Yahool Singles today. I must say that there were quite a few single men in my age category and my area. I don't have a credit card, so of course when I wanted to look further into the site they wanted my credit card information. I wish they took checks. I do not trust pay pal to much and I do not even know if that was an option. Let me know if you know of any sites where I might have better results. Well anyway, looks like we are all thinking along the same lines.
Take Care

I have used www.plentyoffish.com and had luck (just not a match) with it. Best part is,
IT'S FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was a great selling point for me, especially if you are new to online dating.
Just thought I would share and say yeah, you aren't alone!!!

Over the years I've done many online dating sites.
eHarmony was the best and worst. There's a lot of soul searching that goes into eHarmony = both your own profile as well as the exchange process. My experience was that I was deleted, assumedly due to my weight, and after going thru such emotional soul searching conversations that this constant rejection was hard to take.
I currently play a bit with cupid.com - it is OK. bbpeopleonline.com specializes in larger people but I went off there in March when I decided I did not want to market myself as/to larger people. I had fun with match.com before.
These sites are ridden with married men who all have a sob story to tell. You'll also quickly find those who have made a career out of online dating - they are on all the time, their messages sound prewritten and overused, lack of sincerity.
But there are some nice guys out there, I mention the above so you are armed with your filters and go into it ready!
Overall its a numbers game, how many people you are exposed to and talk to. With this its important to write up an honest profile and put up pictures. Look at it as entertainment. Share your heart only when appropriate and dont give it easily away.
And WLS is NOT something you need to tell people until you are ready! That may not be until a few days. It may be in your first exchanges. Just go with what you are comfortable with and remember taht anyone worth your time will respect those boundaries.
Enjoy, have fun and good luck,
Tiffany
