Hair Loss...Please Help
Hi Christina,
I use Nioxine shampoo and conditioner but really nothing will keep the hair from falling out. It just has to run it's course. I hear it lasts up to about the 8th month. I'm right there with you on the hair coming out in droves. I'm definitely going to get a wig if I get any noticeable bald spots because I don't look good in a short hair style. Anyways, just know we are all right there with you!

I am right there with ya' in the hair loss. Mine seemed to start earlier than many others (I've had problems getting in protein so that didn't help any). I've had handfuls of hair coming out in the shower for a couple of months now and it is worrying me. My part is wider and my once pretty full hair is looking thinner and thinner each day. I cut it short with layers. THe next thing I'm going to do is have it colored - been told that will thicken up what hair I have- we shall see. At this point I really hope it doesn't last until month 8 - I won't have anything left!! Good luck!

So far I haven't heard of anyone going bald. Some choose wigs for several reasons, like they don't look good with short hair or there are patches they can't cover. But most of these had very thing hair to begin with. But that is all I have heard.
Coloring does help. Get some highlights, it helps draw the attention away from the thin areas, sort of gives a depth that helps everything blend together. I had mine done a month ago. I always color my hair, but I got it highlighted by a salon last month. I will do it myself from now on, cost too much for me, but I do love it.
Christina Honey,
You are not alone we stand strong and thinning beside you
I feel so sad after I run my hands through my hair and keep grabbing strand after strand. I stay encouraged by looking at others pages and I see the year after photos and the ladies have beautiful hair. So just remember it does grow back - this is the only thing keeping me encouraged and that no one has went bald but I have to admit I still feel sad when I see my comb in the morning full of my locks. I have long hair so when it gets too bad I plan on having it cut to shoulder length and with layers to make my hair look fuller.
You take care sweetie and know we are all getting through this together.
Hugs,
Jean

I am just starting to notice some hair loss. My surgery was Jan 21, 2006. I have been used Nioxin for over 2 years and swear by it. I know that I will still lose hair but I am hoping that the Nioxin will really help. It is an excellent product and sure can't hurt. My hair has been the best it has ever been since I started using it. Costco carried it for a while and I wish they would continue. Good luck to you and all of us! Most of us are in the same boat. j. marie
I just spoke to my surgeon's office regarding this issue as I'm suffering a little hair loss myself. They advised to take additional vitamins; Biotin and a B Complex. It seems to have slowed it down a little, but not stopped it. They said that around six months it will taper off and the hair loss will be what it was like before since we all lose hair daily anyway.
Hang in there.
