Friday Morning Rant!

Ok, as many of you know I am VERY passionate about Music and Agriculture. I'm on a little Rant Session right now, so please bear with me...... The major fair around here is the Big Fresno Fair- about 1.5 hours south of me in October. Well, last year there were 6 cases of E.Coli that claims sprouted from the petting zoo. ALL AROUND the Livestock area signs are posted telling people to wash their hands after leaving, after being around the animals, before eating, etc etc (Common SENSE PEOPLE!) There are even handwashing stations all over and like 2 at the petting zoo itself! One of the people with the law suit is a former news anchor for a television news broadcast- come on, he should have known! This happened in October, and they're still bringing it up today. The lawsuit allegedly says the fair did not do anything to keep the patrons safe or offer ways to protect them in the future. Thankfully, the Department of Health is on the side of the Fair. Unfortunately, the Petting Zoo will not be returning The fair is adding 25 more handwashing stations, eliminating food and drink in the livestock area and having voiceovers to remind people to wash before eating... all at EXTRA Expenses to the fair! WTF! Ok, I feel a little better, lol. Please, ladies and gents, when you go to the fair, make sure to wash your hands and do NOT touch the exhibition animals! When you go into the petting zoo, don't feed them and wash immediately when you're done- then you'll be ok! Of course, not every fair has E.Coli, but this is just a precaution Ok, I'm done now lol, have a nice day! Jaci

Hey Jaci, It only takes one or two people to ruin it for everyone else! I realize E.Coli is serious but like you say, common sense should dictate what choices people make when it comes to their health. Karen S.
