Ever since I was sick last week I just can't get back in to eating. I need help with more protein....I can handle string cheese, turkey pepperoni, a few bagel chips--I know but they are saltly and help the crave. I am sick on chicken and fish. I doctor said to wait 6 months for steak. How about everyone else. I tried nonfat yogurt with 2 tablespoons of soy nuts and 1 scoop of protein powder not bad. But i feel like i am eating the same c!!!? EVERDAY..:.help: Wouldn't it be nice to wake up and have your breakfast already prepared for you. I don't miss the food just feeling blahhhh about right now.. Is there any MAGIC pill to take for protein..... My hair is getting to thin on top...When i hit 100 pounds lost I plan to get a haircut.....I was wondering what was that site I think Jaci used to look at pictures to decide what haircut to go with.....Please let me know..... suzan

Hey Suzan... sorry you're feeling blah! I feel it alot lately too. When that happens, I drink some fruity water.... or brush my teeth. On protein.... why not try some shakes until your pouch feels better? I personally love the Atkins Chocolate Royale and I don't normally like chocolate! lol The haircuts- just do a google search for hair cuts. I don't remember the site I used, sorry, but a general search should help ya!

Can you have ground beef? Make a meat loaf, meat balls, hamberger patty using onion soup mix. Hope these help. As for the hair, even if you get all the protein in, you probubly would still be loosing the hair. I am and I can see the thinning area. And I have about 3 months left of this. Starting to worry about what to do. I am going out on tour starting in July and will be gone for a few months, I don't want to go to just anyone for a hair cut. But I don't want to cut my hair short till the last minute incase I don't have to. My friend said she wore alot of hats and scaves, I really don't want to be doing that in the summer in the mid-west and east coast and eventully Florida. Sorry for the turn here, just started worrying about a few things and that was one of them

I wonder why so many doctors have different ideas of what you can eat or can't eat.... Thankfully my dr. says to eat whatever I can tolerate.. He suggested that I cook my steak in the crockpot to make it moist and it practically falls apart. I am not suppose to use the protien supplements he wants me to get all my protien from food. Good luck on finding new things to eat. :0) Anna

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble getting the protein in. Maybe stick to softer foods for the next few weeks. I do remember Kaiser telling us not to have beef for at last six months. Try cottage cheese with a half of a banana in it, ricotta cheese with spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese warmed in the microwave, lots of protein shakes. Anyways, I hope you are feeling better soon! Karen S

RNY on 01/16/06 with
Susan, Since you do soy, I would recommend a premade shake they sell at WalMart to help you supplement. EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control 11 ounces 100 calories 1 net carb (4 carbs) 15 gram of protein and tons of vitamins and minerals a 20 c 45 calc 25 iron 10 e 40 k 20 thiamin 20 ribof 25 niacin 20 b6 20 b12 30 biotin 20 pant acid 20 phosporous 45 iodine 20 magnesium 35 zinc 25 selenium 20 copper 10 manganese 15 chromium 30 molybdem 20 I love these shakes and have about 30 of them sitting in my closet. But because of the soy things with my thyroid problem, I am not drinking them. (I told my sis to drink them so that the money was not wasted) Put them in the frig and get them nice and cold and they are great. I like the chocolate and vanilla. God Bless, Jen

Sweetie...calm down!!! You're overcome with worry and questions...lol. You know what I found is rich in protein?? Imitation meats...like veggie burgers or veggie sausage. It is also low in fat. It is a really nice change of pace for a new taste too. There is a protein pill on the market but it's worthless. You have to take 10 pills to get just 1 gram of protein. (What's the point??) I have been thinking about getting a hair cut too. Nothing too short, just get the dead ends cut so it looks healthier if nothing else. Dawn
