I need help
Jen,
Don't beat yourself up--we all have bad days or bad weeks. We all have stalls. Just loosing one pound a week is better than the three or four when nothing happens!
As for carbs, I get my carb fixes from berries--blackberries especially (Sam's carries 11 ounce packages for $4). They go down easy and keep things moving through me. they are also high in the vitamins we need. I also munch on nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts) from the large "cooking" packages. They get me through my days at school when I can't risk getting sick and not being able to teach. And if I really need something munchy, about a handful of baked lay's will go down and I'm full. I always work to get in protein first when I eat, but these things help me get through the day. And I still loose weight fairly progressively.
I dont know if these ideas will help. They work for me. Good luck with the little ones. Remember, not all carbs are created equal.

I don't know if this will help but here it goes. First, there are going to be weeks that you don't loose, whether you eat right or not. Second, my best friend had the surgery 3 years ago and is down from 280 to 125 at 5'5". She ate carbs, very little protein at first, (she could only eat salad for almost a year, meat didn't sit well) She never had protein shakes, her program didn't call for it. She lost the weight almost all in the first year.
What I am trying to say here is that even if you are having trouble now, you are going to loose. There is almost nothing you can do to keep yourself from loosing except maybe eating lots of refined sugars.
So take a deep breath and relax. Take care of the kids, but set aside 5 min. every 2 hours for yourself. That is what is important. But you do need the Vit.
Jen you've taken on a lot and you have to cut yourself some slack girlfriend. You can't lose 3lbs every week.
Try getting back to basics, Protein, water, excdersise. Are you using fitday or something like it to track what you're eating? For me, anyway, it helps to keep me honest to have a record of what went in my mouth.
I'm hoping to get to see you when I come to Texas next month. Maybe you and the babies can come to my brothers and we can all go to the pool? What do you think?
Maybe some time out or away from the babies will help a bit.
Regards and many hugs,
Ronna

Jen, first of all, here's a big {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hug}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}!! As for slapping you silly, I will say that you are human and everyone makes poor choices at times. That being said, you do need to get back on track. Protein is what will keep you from plateauing for long periods of time. I don't know what you're allowed to eat or what you are easily able to tolerate, but try keeping string cheese or low carb yogurt around. They're easy ways to get some protein without having to cook anything or prepare anything. I, myself, try to stay away from nuts as they are way too easy to overeat. If you need something crunchy, try soy crisps. It will help satisfy those carb urges while still getting some protein.
As for the weight loss this week, that 's going to fluctuate. We're now at a point where we're not going to consistently lose 3-4 pounds/week. Lots of us have posted how they have been the same weight for 2 or 3 weeks and then almost overnight, they drop 4-6 pounds. So, I wouldn't take your lower loss this week as anything but a normality, especially after losing 4 pounds for the last 2 weeks.
You've got so much going in your life right now. Try to take a few minutes for yourself each day and keep some of those easy to eat protein snacks within reach. You took the right step coming on the board and asking for help. We're all here for you! You will be successful!!
