Secret Pals Get Moving
I do not want to flame but feel it is absolutely necessary. Most of us are doing what we should. There are a few that are not - this message is to you. You have made this email necessary.
If you are a secret pal and have not sent a gift to your pal yet, you need to do it now. It is not fair that you have the benefit of receiving and not giving. Remember it is better to give than to receive. This is a two way street - not a one way. In my opinion you are basically stealing from the group.
If you are a pal who has not sent a gift and your assigned pal does not receive a gift by the end of next week, you will be pulled from the program. Priority mail takes 2-3 days and the post office offers a pretty large box at a shipping cost of 8.10.
There is absolutely no excuse for not shipping a gift at this point. If you had a reason, I should have been contacted within the past two months to help you with your situation.
My daughter was in the hosp, home on a feeding tube, had bi-weekly dr appointments and I still managed to shop for my pal for the whole year -- and I even mailed to to her. I made a commitment and kept it. Imagine that, my charachter matters to me! When I say I will do something, I typically do. If there is a reason I cannot, I definitely will let the person know.
If you are a pal that has not received a package and have not emailed me privately please email me and I will pull your pal from the program and assign her pal to you.

Very well said Jen. I took over the secret buddy program from the main board and oh WHAT A MESS! If someone can not afford it they should forward the gift sent to them from their pal and no one would be the wiser. I think I finally sorted it all out and as long as people stop quiting on me it should go fine. (I hope)

Don't take this wrong, cause I love ya girl, but why all the hostility? If you know people aren't sending their packages out email them personally. When you do a general email like this it sends the message that this is nothing but an inconvenience on your part and honestly I hope that's not the case. You did a great thing in arranging this for us. Now, I already sent my gift and recieved one so I know this is not the case for me, but maybe there are other reasons why a gift hasn't been sent yet, like they are waiting for their birthday or anniversary or something that falls in this month but not right in the beginning. As for "its better to give than recieve"...I think that is true, so why are people weenie whining to you on the SECOND of the month that they didn't get anything?? Sorry, I vented there a little bit.

No one is whining b/c a gift has not been received by the SECOND of this month. There are some who never received anything for May let alone June and the majority of pals were assigned in the middle of April. I have personally emailed and corresponded with several people. I know of some situations that packages have been delayed and of course that can happen. But, to not have sent anything for a whole month is unacceptable. I am looking to correspond with/to those who have not responded and have not sent pkgs yet.
I love coordinating the program and think that it is so awesome each time I see a thank you post to a secret pal, that part is great and not an inconvenience at all. It is, however, positively an inconvenience to me when people do not do what they signed up to do and I have to try to fix it. My time is valuable and I have tons going on with the kids and church and all of that.
